Brittany Van Grouw, Assistant Coach

A native of New Jersey, Brittany played for the TSF: Academy soccer team from 2005 until her move to Salt Lake City in 2014. She started all four years as a center back for her High School team, serving as captain for her final two years. She was awarded All-League Honorable Mention, Second Team All Tri-County Conference, and New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association State Recognition.

In 2010, she began her undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. Brittany played nearly every minute for their NCAA Division III Varsity team for a career total of 65 (started 63) of 68 games, missing three due to injury. 

​

She was named captain her Junior and Senior year. During her career, she was awarded NSCAA All-East Region Second Team, ECAC Division III Upstate Women's Soccer All-Stars Second Team, and Liberty League First Team, Second Team, and Honorable mentions. In addition, she was awarded Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year by her teammates.

In between college seasons, she played for the North Jersey Valkyries, a member of the USL W-league. She played alongside and against college athletes from all around the region, as well as against established international players.

​

She graduated in 2014, and moved out to Salt Lake City to attend the University of Utah and obtain her Master's Degree in Civil Engineering. She played intramurals, indoor and for the local JOGA club until the founding of the University of Utah's Women's Soccer Club in the Fall of 2016. She was named captain of the team for the Spring 2017 season, and awarded Player's Player of the Year by her teammates.

Brittany is enthusiastic about transitioning to the coaching staff for the Fall 2017 season. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge of the game and working with everyone.
